Duration: 7 hours

Walking: moderate

Start your tour with a panoramic drive to Roman Thermae Baths, that are the largest baths in the European part of the Roman Empire. Continue to Assumption Cathedral. Admire its interior, decorated with beautiful murals and woodcarving. Good addition to the city tour is a visit to the Archeological museum that houses finds from Varna Calcolithic Necropolis, containing the oldest worked-up by man gold (4th millennium BC) — the archaeological sensation of the 20th century. After the visit to the museum the city sightseeing tour continues with a spectacular drive along the coast to Aladzha Monastery. This rock monastery, which history starts in the 13-14th century, is picturesquely situated amidst the lash greenery of the Balkan Mountains. The Turkish word «aladzha» meaning «colourful, motley» was attached to the medieval rock monastery owing to its fine frescoes and maybe because it was sheltered in 60-meters-high colourful limestone rock. Continue for lunch at local restaurant. Enjoy delicious Bulgarian cuisine, including wine. Admire lively folk performance. After lunch rejoin you coach and drive back to Varna port.
