Trabzon Highlights

Duration: 4 hours
Walking: even

Begin your tour with a short drive to St. Sophia Church, which serves as a museum. The bell tower to the west side of the church was dated back to 1427 by the British traveller and researcher G. Finlay. After visit of St Sophia Church you will have a short drive to Ataturk Pavilion. Ataturk, founder of modern Turkey used this Pavilion on his Trabzon visits. The Pavilion constructed as a summer residence by Konstantin Kabayanidis in the early 19th century, lies on the ridge of Soguksu which overlooks Trabzon. The building reflects the influence of European and West Renaissance Architecture, and large and splendid European symbols were used for decorative purposes.

As a last stop of the tour, you will have a Samovar party (typical tea ceremony of the Black Sea Region) on Boztepe Hill. Boztepe Hill is one of the highest points of the city and it has a wonderful Trabzon view. You will have necessary information about Trabzon while you are drinking Samovar tea. Then after a pleasant drive, tour will terminate at the pier.
