Take a short drive along shady streets of the city to Black Sea Navy Fleet museum that was founded in 1869 by participants of Sevastopol defense of Crimean War period (1854-1855). Originally the collection of the museum consisted of personal belongings, collection of cold arms and firearms, gravures, paintings of well-known artists. Today you will visit the exposition of the museum that includes old and modern samples of weapon, ships’ models, military uniform, old photos and paintings. Then rejoin your coach and drive to the town of Balaclava known for the unique S-shaped harbor serving an ideal shelter for ships.

Have a stroll along Balaclava sea-front and learn about the history of this small but very special town. Until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, Balaklava was one of the most secret towns in Russia. Closed off from the outside world Balaklava was home to a Nuclear Submarine Base like no other. Take a guided tour to see the Submarine Base Museum and learn about its unique peculiarities developed by the era of the Cold War.
