Start your tour with a drive to the John the Baptist Church, a monument of early Byzantium architecture. This ancient temple was erected long before the baptism of Prince Vladimir. It is the most ancient working temple of Eastern Europe. Take an opportunity to visit Kerch Archeological museum that boasts unique collection of Scythian tools, weapons, statuettes, Greek black varnished plates & dishes, Greek household goods & trimmings. Also visit Golden treasury that include collection of silver & golden coins of Roman, Byzantine, Panticapeum times, golden jewellery of commander, women jewellery (golden, silver with precious stones). Your coach makes its way to the central part of the ancient town, the acropolis, on the top of Mitridat Mount. Panticapaeum was the name of the first settlement founded by the Greeks on the territory of modern Kerch in the 5th century BC. On the northern slope of the hill there was a trading square called "the agora". Inside the Mount itself there were found many crypts, a number of which still bare the traces of ancient paintings. See the monumental Constantine Staircase from the top of Mount Mitridat. Return back to the ship.
