Prince Dmitri Romanovich Romanov in Yalta
For Select Black Sea Ltd. the May of 2006 was marked by an important event - the arrival to Yalta of the Grand Duke Peter Nikolaevich Romanov’s grandson Prince Dmitri Romanovich Romanov. Dmitri Romanovich Romanov is a highly acclaimed author, who within the framework of his visit to Ukraine, paid a visit to the exposition in the Palace of Dulber, devoted to the history of his family. Prince Dmitri was born in Antibes near Cap d'Antibes on the French Riviera. His father was Prince Roman Petrovich of Russia (1896-1970) the son of Grand Duke Peter Nikolaevich of Russia and Princess Milica of Montenegro. His mother Countess Prascovia Sheremeteva (1901-1980) was a member of the Sheremetev family. The first ten years of his life had been spent in France before his family moved to Italy. Since his retirement Prince Dmitri has been involved in a number of charitable endeavours and currently serves as Chairman of the Romanov Fund for Russia. He also serves as Chairman of the Prince Dmitri Romanov Charity Fund which he founded in 2006 in France. In 2006 Prince Dmitri arranged for the remains of Maria Feodorovna the Empress Consort of Alexander III to be returned to Russia.
